John Conway Jones (RIP) - Commemoration evening - ad un anno dalla sua scomparsa - one year after his passing

la notte del 6 giugno 2008 come ricorderete, l’ amico John Conway Jones ci lasciava improvvisamente per migliori lidi (si dice cosi’….).
Per ricordarlo degnamente, come avrebbe voluto, stiamo organizzando una “riunione” (chiamatela festa, “knees-up” o quello che volete, non c’ e’ problema di mancare di rispetto ai defunti, a John non sarebbe importato…..) nel locale dove si e’ spento, SABATO SERA 6 giugno 2009, all’ Hemingway Bar di Via Vallazze angolo via Capranica a Milano (Citta’ studi). Dalle 21:00 sino alla chiusura, non c’ e’ bisogno di RSVP (lui non ne ha mai risposto ad uno nella sua vita, ne’ lo avrebbe mai chiesto), vediamoci tutti li’.
Spero che si riesca tutti a rinunciare, in sua memoria e per esserci, al weekend nella casetta al mare, alla gita in montagna, alla cena con amici snob, alla partita a tennis il giorno dopo, etc. etc…. o altri impegni che credo rispetto a questa occasione diventano ovviamente futili. Prenotate in anticipo baby sitters sino a tarda notte…..;-)
Gli unici scusati da John per l’ assenza sono quelli che abitano a piu’ di 4 ore di aereo da Milano…………..;-))
Una cosa e’ sicura perche’ ce lo chiede Johnnie da dove e’ : si berra’ pesantemente, si fara’ tardi, diremo un sacco di scemenze, etc…… come lui avrebbe fatto e voluto……. e come diceva John spesso…… “ci divevtivemo” !!
Vi prego inoltrare questo messaggio a chi ho sicuramente dimenticato di comunicarlo.

the night of June 6th 2008 as you can recall, our dear friend John Conway Jones unexpectedtly and suddenly left us. To remember and celebrate his memory as he would have wished us to do, we are putting together a “reunion” (or a party, “Knees-up” or whatever you wanna call it, no problem with respect for the deceased…. John would not have cared……..) in the bar where he passed away, SATURDAY JUNE 6th, at the Hemingway Bar, via Vallazze corner with Via Capranica in Milan (Citta’ studi area). It will be from 9:00 PM on, there is no need of such a thing like RSVP (he never replied to one in his life nor he would have ever asked for one), let’ s all simply meet there.
Hopefully we will all manage to give up the beach house weekend, mountain hike, dinner with stuck-up friends, important tennis game next day or other commitments that compared to this event become obviously futile. Get yourselves, book early, nannies for your kids, until late night…..
The only ones excused for missing the event are the ones who live farther away from Milan than 4 hours by plane……;-)

One thing is for sure because Johnnie is asking us, from wherever he is : we will get drunk, we will be late, we will be silly, etc….. as he would have done and wished….. and as John often said…. “we WILL have fun” !!
